Roadtrip: By the Seashore

By the sea, by the sea, by the beautiful sea...

It was brief, but it was wonderful to stop in to our favourite spots and visit family. As always, the trip is never long enough and we leave wishing we could stay longer. We are back on the road again. I am sitting in a hotel lobby, taking advantage of free wireless while getting in these few words and photos. The photos were taken along Bearskin Neck and Rocky Neck, two artist colonies in Massachusetts, USA.

 We are now eight colleges down, with three more to go. Dickinson, Colgate, Hamilton, Williams, Middlebury, Union, Skidmore, Wheaton are a few of the schools behind us. I can tell you now that if I could, I would be applying along with Claire. I have driven these many miles thinking of all the possibilities. The wheels are turning.....

I have to say, I miss blogging. There does not seem to be enough time in the day. Internet time has been tight and has not allowed me to get around and say hello. I look forward to catching up on my return next week. In the meantime, three more days to go and then home to Miss Christine and Mr. H. We miss them!

It so appealing that pushed the mental picture I had formed of this project's ultimate design right out the window. But the broader range of colors, neither the modern look nor the cheap price of the bed in a bag was what prompted the swarm of decorating ideas that had this comforter set as the centerpiece churning in my mind; it was that mod, lime green headboard.

The pictures of the headboard shown with the cute, lime green and turquoise blue bedding set could be improved. I couldn't help but think that if the wood used was thicker or if two layers of pressed board where used to make the openings more boxy then you would have both display and storage capabilities. Actually, it would probably be the most modern, bookcase headboard around and think of how plain, black books would stand out against the bright lime green paint.

These wonderful bedroom designs seem cool and inspiring. You will not regret if you apply them in your bedroom. So, your bedroom will always seem bright and gorgeous.

Roadtrip: Blueberry Mornings

If I had to list one of my favourite foods in life it would have to be blueberries. I will take them any way I can get them and these fast few days I have been lucky enough to find them in a field outside our front door. We are taking a much deserved break from our college search. We are staying with family outside of Hanover, New Hampshire, home to Dartmouth College (not on our list) and a stunning countryside.

We have been coming here to Hanover for over 20 years. Two brothers, one living in New Hampshire,  upon 100 acres of glorious country and the other, travelling the globe with a blog crazy wife and kids. It is so much fun when the two meet along the way. Luckily for me, my sister-in-law is a dear friend and a delight to be with. Walking, shopping, talking, sharing a glass of wine as we watch the sun set over the mountains with lots of laughter mixed in. When I leave here I feel that life does not get any better than this.

Our college search has been fascinating. Six colleges to date, five more to go. We have learned so much...I have learned so much. My daughter, Miss Claire, has wonderful choices, assuming she can get in to them. Two or three have risen to the top of her list. I am hoping by the end she has more. There is so much to say about this topic. I have taken extensive notes which I hope to share someday when life slows down. That will be coming soon.

In the meantime, I am going to appreciate what is now sitting outside my window and enjoy. We leave for Massachusetts this morning to visit more family. My Mother opened a new art gallery this year. I can't wait to see it and will be sure to bring you news from Rocky Neck....Massachusetts.

I think the following photos will give you the feeling of the moment. I am off to enjoy my morning usual, muesli and blueberries with a cup or two of strong coffee by the side. :)
