"Kurt Wenner comenzó a pintar en las calles de Roma en 1982, y en 1984 fue uno de los pocos reconocidos maestros de la pintura callejera. Inspirado por la anamorfosis, una técnica que se utiliza en los techos con frescos para crear la ilusión de altura, diseñó su propia geometría que le ha permitido crear ilusiones en 3 Ddimensiones en la superficie horizontal de la calle.

Esta forma de arte, conocida como anamórfico, illusionistic, o simplemente pintura en 3-D, se ha convertido en un fenómeno. El trabajo de Wenner no sólo proporciona una oportunidad para que las personas den testimonio de bellas artes en la calle, sino que también presenta un cambio de interactuar con un artista al tiempo que crea. Sus obras maestras son originales, ricamente coloreadas a mano con pasteles [gises].

La anamorfosis o anamorfismo es una técnica de "deformación reversible" causada por un efecto de perspectiva: la imagen aparece deforme a menos que sea vista desde un ángulo específico. Seguramente usted recuerda a Julian Beever, que ya es cliente de émula, pero quizá no conocía a Kurt Wenner de Ann Arbor, Michigan. Es arquitecto. Y como dato, trabajó como ilustrador para la NASA.

Blu es un italiano que cuenta historias pintando muros y banquetas, filma cada movimiento de sus personajes y los incluye en una realidad/video donde coexisten dibujos animados y personas en las mismas calles. A la técnica de animación le llaman stop motion, la misma que se utiliza para animar seres de plastilina, etc. El tal Blu realmente se la rifa pintando y borrando sus personajes en la pared, sobre todo porque sus personajes tienen esa extraña tendencia a perder la cabeza y convertirse en otras varias cosas. Y bueno, este es Muto, su trabajo más reciente.

Según el argentino Federico, del colectivo de arte urbano Run Dont Walk, "todo ocurrió muy rápido. Nos dijeron que reservásemos nuestros vuelos. Es estupendo encontrarse aquí con gente de todo el mundo. No es una galería, sino algo muy especial". Leon, artista británico residente en Los Angeles, explica que aunque "es tradicional que los artistas del graffiti colaboren, es algo que no había ocurrido antes a esa escala".
