Travel Plans, a Canaletto and Katharine Hepburn

You can probably tell from the previous post that I am in travel mode at the moment.
I am doing what I do best when it comes to packing for a trip....procrastinating.

I have all the necessary books, have done my google searches
and am in the process of cooking food and writing up notes for the babysitter.

Yesterday I went along to the National Gallery in London and was swept away
with the beauty of this painting by Canaletto (1697-1768)
a Venetian painter famous for his paintings of Venice.
Venice: The Upper Reaches of the Grand Canal with S. Simeone Piccolo, about 1740

I started to think of movies that inspire and with Venice
still on my mind I thought of this classic.

Who remembers?

Summertime
(1955)
with
Katharine Hepburn and Rossano Brazzi

and thinking Canaletto colour,
especially orange and blue...

Oh Katharine!

On that note...I feel as Katharine does,
I must part and get back to work.

Before I do, if you are in the market
for a cashmere wrap... read here

Best wishes for a wonderful day!!
